Ms. Miraluna Tacadao

Ms. Miraluna Tacadao has been leading the Workers Welfare Research Division of the Institute for Labor Studies since 2014. Her research focuses on social protection and welfare and the emergence of the platform economy.
Before joining the Institute, Ms. Tacadao gained extensive research experience with the House of Representatives and the University of the Philippines (UP) Social Action and Research for Development Foundation, Inc. of UP Diliman College of Social Work and Community Development.
She graduated cum laude from UP Manila with a bachelor’s degree in development studies. She earned her master’s degree, also in development studies, from the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School, and earned teaching units from the Philippine Normal University. In addition to being a researcher, she is also a licensed teacher.
Her latest engagement with SERP-P was her presentation of the study “Evolving a Governance Framework for Workers in the Gig Economy” during the seminar “Unpacking the Rise of Online Filipino Platform Work and the Gig Economy” on October 28, 2024.
