Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño

Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño is the current dean of the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG). Before his appointment as ASoG dean, he was an associate professor at the Department of Economics of the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), where he served as the chairperson. He has been a lecturer at ASoG since 2005 and served as the program manager for the United Nations Sustainable Development at the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability. He was the program officer and assistant coordinator of the Office for Social Concern and Involvement and program manager of the Center for Social Policy and Public Affairs. 

Dr. Tuaño obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from ADMU and Master of arts (MA) in Economics from the University of Sussex. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and MA in Development Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Outside the academe, Dr. Tuaño served as the Director III at the Macropolicy Unit of the National Anti-Poverty Commission, a development associate at the Peace and Equity Foundation, and a researcher for the Caucus of Development NGO Networks. He is also actively involved in external networks as project coordinator for the Human Development Network and acting coordinator for the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Philippine Chapter.
