C2.5 A2.4: INTERNATIONAL INSTRUMENTS AND INITIATIVES ON THE AGENDA FOR THE GIRL-CHILD

The two human rights convention and other international instruments play a significant role in establishing norms for the promotion and protectionn of the rights of the girl child. They also serve as basis for a general framework towards the implementatin of a human rights agenda for the girl child. It tends to influence law and policy reform but they also serve as indicators in monitoring State compliance with the Conventions. It also serve as an aid to NGOs in their advocacy work.
