The four cases depict the external and internal factors affecting the participation of non-government and people’s organization in local governance. These feature experiences of social development, NGO and peasants base in a small rural town in Aurora Province; NGO coalition attempting its hand at the local governance in Cebu; the multi-purpose cooperative composed of agricultural workers in two rural areas in Davao del Norte; and the efforts of participation in one of the local governments of Metro Manila.
These case studies provide valuable insights to various sectors and organized groups who are interested in strategizing for more effective people’s participation in local governance.
