This case study looks into how El Nino phenomenon resulted in famine among the Lumads (indigenous people). In particular, it investigates why subsistence farmers and the Lumads are affected by food security. It also presents the program Tabang Mindanaw wich was initiated by concerned groups, business and the church to address the food and health problems that befell the Lumads largely and subsistence farmers in Mindanao.
