The discussion started on the knowledge base of public health by listening to the voices of the poor and marginalized people. For the "public" in "public health" refers to them most of all. Eliciting and taking seriously their views about their own healh and well-being in a two way communication process between health care providers and people mark the first steps toward mutual understanding, respect and joint action for long-lasting and meaningful results.
