The reflection was based on a symposium ("Pagsagupa sa Bagyo ng Kahirapan"), the paper tries to answer the question "What could be the particular contribution of anthroplogy to the emerging multidisciplinary study of disaster? And how the study of disastrs, in turn, enhance the practice and theory of anthropology especially in the Philippines.
