GNP ACCOUNTING


The article discusses the standard approaches to measuring national output. This is illustrated using Philippine data from 1983 to 1999. It shows the breakdown of the real Gross National Product (GNP) by expenditure share and by industrial origin. Theres also an overview of the major macroeconomic developments during the period, particularly showing how these had affected the growth performance of the economy and its various sectors.
