This article talks about how anthropology as a field of social sciences has evolved, today it gained a newer outlook that recognizes the crucial link between theory and practice, realized in a participatory, interdisciplinary context. In the rural Philipines, anthropologists, collaborating with other disciplines, have helped farmer beneficiaries assess the land titling process, and identify and take steps to overcome bureaucratic obstacles to tenure security.
