The article provides an overview of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and its maritime component, the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Looking into the practical considerations of Philippine participation in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the article seeks to find out the scenarios at the domestic level that the Philippines should anticipate in order to implement the plans effectively and harness the benefits of BRI.
