Understanding Household Demand and Supply of Water: The Metro Manila Case


While the government has taken tangible measures to address the urban water issues, there have not been adequate empirical analyses that can help in the design of policy and institutional framework. This paper attempts to understand the nature of household demand for water including the estimation of household water demand functions. From, the analysis of water costs, water demand level and quality of water services, implication for policies are presented.
