FSI CC 2015-4: Reconciling Labor Realities with Policy: The EPS and the Overseas Filipino Workers

The paper discusses the prospects and challenges of the Employment Permit System (EPS) of the South Korean government and its impact on OFWs deployed in the country. While the new scheme improves existing channels of labor migration to South Korea, the Philippines can play a constructive role in addressing its challenges in ensuring compliance of employers and safeguards for OFWs.
