This paper presents PCARRD’s stance on field testing of Bt corn in particular and in biotechnology in general. The paper also discussed the supply-demand, production performance and constraints, global scenario on transgenic corn and other genetically modified (GM) crops. The Philippine experience on transgenic R&D was also discussed. Finally, PCARRD’s recommendation on field testing of Bt corn was presented.
