PCAARRD PB 2001-1: Validating the Promise of Biotechnology: The Case of Multi-Location Field Testing of Bt Corn in the Philippines

This paper presents PCARRD’s stance on field testing of Bt corn in particular and in biotechnology in general. The paper also discussed the supply-demand, production performance and constraints, global scenario on transgenic corn and other genetically modified (GM) crops. The Philippine experience on transgenic R&D was also discussed. Finally, PCARRD’s recommendation on field testing of Bt corn was presented.
