Rural areas in the Philippines, especially those dependent on agricultural economies, face different from of disadvantages, which include remoteness, isolation and lack of access to basic goods and services. The study was brought about by the existence of informal transport modes in Region 2 such as that of "kuliglig", a vehicle comprising of a two-wheeled trailer pulled by a hand-tractor. Safety features of these modeswere assessed to see if they conform to existing laws and regulations.
