Estimating Commuters' Willingness-To-Pay for Improved Air Quality Considering Their Exposure to Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM)

The increasing motorization and traffic congestion have brought about high concentration levels of suspended particulate matter (SPM)in Metro Manila. Constant exposure to high levels of SPM poses grave health concerns to the public, particularly on pedestrians and passengers, as well as drivers and roadside workers. The paper estimates the willingness-to-pay of passengers and pedestrians for improved air quality using contingent valuation method.
