Aside from the corruption allegations against President Estrada, issues of fiscal deficit amounting to billions of pesos beleaguer his administration. The nation depends on his ability and on his economic advisers to implement necessary measures to stabilize the political and fiscal sector. This article tackles these issues by examining the President’s budget.The author suggests ways to achieve some degree of financial improvement through increased revenues on one side and sound fiscal management on the other.
