The Tariff Commission issued this monitoring report in relation to the General Safeguard measure against imports of Cement (AHTN 2017 Subheading Nos. 2523.29.90 and 2523.90.00) from various countries. After taking into consideration domestic procedure in Republic Act No. (RA) 8800 and the compliance of the domestic industry with its adjustment plan/s, including the progress and developments in the domestic industry to make a positive adjustment to import competition, the Commission finds that the domestic industry has substantially complied with its commitments as stated in its adjustment plan/s and the current safeguard measure provides the domestic industry with the needed time to respond and undertake improvements to attain import competitiveness.
