The training course was a collaborative endeavor between the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and the International Conflict Resolution Center of the University of Melbourne International Pty Ltd. and the Social Development Research Center.
The course covered training in the core values, knowledge and skills in the area of conflict management and action research methodology. The training consisted of two components. Component 1 introduced conflict resolution concepts, processes, models, and skills. Component 2 explored how conflict resolution concepts and skills can be applied in local and international contexts. It also focused on culling lessons from different case reports and the experiences of the other participants.
The training project was supported by the Philippine-Australian Short Term Training Program (PASTT) if the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
