The non-integration of climate-related information into public decision-making poses threats to the agriculture, which is highly vulnerable to climate variability. It is therefore important to have a strong policy and institutional framework to support the provision of climate information services (CIS) to the agricultural sector. In this study, the institutional mechanism of the provision of CIS was analyzed in the context of the Philippines. It provided an overview of the policy and institutional landscapes of the country, linking global to local networks. This is done through the tracing of climate information pathway, starting with data generation by different mandated national agencies and project-based intermediaries, up to the information utilization by the end users (i.e. farming community). Through these institutional and policy analyses, relevant issues and challenges were identified. These issues and challenges identified in the study, which are related to the provision of CIS to the agriculture sector, are broadly categorized as institutional, political, and technical. Lastly, the study has also identified numerous opportunities in improving the provision of CIS, as a response to the identified issues.
