This study, commissioned by the Asian Development Bank, showed the characteristics of motorcycle usage in Southeast Asia, with Metro Manila as the case, in aid of the transport policy framework. It noted the growing increase in motorcycle-related crashes and supported the notion that motorcycles are becoming to be significant modes of transport in urban areas for urban mobility, commuting, and other trip purposes. Policy suggestions were introduced in this study to address the proliferation of motorcycles. Further assessments were proposed to understand the travel behavior of motorcycle users and their impacts on the transport system, environment, and traffic safety.
