The study was conducted to estimate the economic output of Bohol Province from 2016 to 2018 using the sectors and sub-sectors of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and recommend strategies on how to institutionalize the preparation of the Provincial Product Accounts. The consulting firm will pilot-test the methodology for estimating the Provincial Economic Performance (PEP) developed through a study commissioned by NEDA Central Office for NEDA CALABARZON.
The Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) shows how the province improves over the period, how it compares with the performance of the region, what are the growth drivers, what are the productive sectors, where to invest, and whether targets are met. Specifically, the PPA presents the economic performance of key sectors, which sector or sub-sector has been steadily growing and which has been contracting, which sectors are dominant in the province between 2016 and 2018. There are indications of how the province maybe transforming. The PPA can inform on the potential sources of growth for the next periods. If continued and extended, the PPA can provide data and analyses that can serve as a potent tool in provincial medium-and long-term planning.
