In 2011, the Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) carried the theme, "Back to ABCs: Education for Development," and involved the
participation of over 120 institutions among national agencies and local government units as well as from the nongovernment, private,
and academic sectors. As suggested in its theme, this year's DPRM highlighted the role of education as an essential factor in the country's fight against poverty.
