ISPPS WP 2002-05: R&D Management Strategies For The Transfer And Utilization of Diagnostic Kits

The study provide an analysis of the research and development management strategies for the transfer and utilization of diagnostic kits technology of BIOTECH. The analysis included a comprehensive technical description of the diagnostic kits; a list of parties-at-interests and the nature of their interest on the technology, and review of government policies or laws influencing technology development. The R&D management on diagnostic kits such as the basis and criteria for selection of cases of research and development, technology transfer and promotion procedure and the sourcing and management of funding supports. The study also identified numerous issues and problems influencing the development of diagnostic kits technology. These are in the area of technical, socio-economic and policy institutional. Finally, the study presents some policy recommendation for consideration by decision-makers so as this locally developed plant diagnostic kits technology can be efficiently and effectively promoted, transferred and widely being utilized for the benefit of the agricultural sector.
