The program had a three-pronged goal: 1) the promotion of the DOH’s Agenda on Quality Care Improvement (or what is popularly called the “Sentrong Sigla Program”); 2) the empowerment of health service providers to able introduce quality improvement programs in their local health facilities; and 3) the determination of the requirements of making Quality Assurance Program a part of the LGU’s health service provision system and day-to-day operations.
Specifically, it was designed; 1) to determine appropriate and suitable ways of institutionalizing and ensuring a sustained delivery of quality health care services in the primary health care setting, with particular focus on the family planning program; 2) to identify quality improvement initiatives that work and those that do not work at the local setting; 3) to document the process, activities, and results of the project; and 4) to draw out lessons learned from the experiences of the local health service providers.
