This paper examines the literature used in pre-marriage seminars in terms of its gendered sensitivity. It is based on a review of the language of said literature being used by local government units and the Catholic Church in selected municipalities in Negros Oriental. It particularly discusses sexism, the invisibility of women, and gender stereotyping.
