PIDS Launches its First Economic Policy Monitor

The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), being true to its mandate of conducting policy research in aid of planning and policymaking, launches its newest regular publication--the Economic Policy Monitor (EPM). In this issue of the DRN, we highlight the EPM and the in-depth analyses it has raised in its maiden issue focusing on fiscal space, investment, and poverty alleviation, arguably some of the main areas that the government should face head-on for the Philippines to tread the right path to economic growth. With the Aquino administration`s commitment to have a more inclusive growth approach to development, the EPM offers a timely tableau of what the development situation is, what have been done, what and where lessons can be learned, what gains may be made, and how the government`s commitment may somehow be made possible.
