Outlining the history and development of regional planning in the Philippines are the different government offices and bodies established through the years with its evolving and shifting functions and responsibilities. As centers for project studies and policy and plan formulation of the different administrative regions, these development authorities eventually failed because of inadequate funding and lack of data on the “varied conditions, needs, and problems” of the different planning regions.
