The Philippines has made significant progress in advancing financial inclusion. However, challenges remain as four (4) out of ten (10) adult Filipinos remain unbanked, preventing people from enjoying the wide range of benefits they may derive from financial products and services. This infographic provides a brief overview of financial inclusion, its benefits, and the state of financial inclusion in the Philippines. It also shows how the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digitalization and financial inclusion. It highlights several barriers to achieving sustainable financial inclusion. Lastly, it presents policy and program considerations aimed at assisting the Philippines in its ongoing pursuit of attaining broader financial inclusion for all its citizens.
