These proceedings are based on the two-day seminar-workshop, “Decolonial Approaches to Legislation,” held on December 3-4, 2022, from 9 AM to 1 PM on each respective date. It was organized by the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) Decolonial Studies Program (DSP), in partnership with the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Policy Research and Legal Services (PRLS).
This seminar-workshop aimed to explore, discuss, and elaborate on the usage of decolonial approaches in crafting legislative measures such as bills and resolutions in the Bangsamoro Parliament. “Decolonial Approaches to Legislation” illustrated the importance of decoloniality in the lived experiences and socio-cultural realities of the Moro peoples vis-à-vis the world of policy-making and implementation through a panel discussion on the first day and a hands-on workshop on the second.
