Conceptual Framework Plan: Municipality of Nasugbu, Batangas

The current thrust of government is the dispersal of urbanization and industrialization to spread employment opportunities in the countryside. With such predicted industrialization and modernization of the peripheral areas outside of Metro Manila, including the Municipality of Nasugbu in Batangas, just in the offing, the need to update and revise development plans for the expansion and growth of the municipality has become undeniable. The conceptual framework plan for the Municipality of Nasugbu was therefore undertaken and along with its specific goals and objectives, the article discusses the method used in formulating said plan. This primarily involved keen assessment and evaluation of the previous plan for the area and interview/consultations with all the sectors/stakeholders concerned. As a result, four development schemes are suggested for consideration, with the PLAND (Planned Area for New Development) scheme chosen as the most suitable for the municipality. This scheme is explained and supplemented with planning guidelines and recommendations.
