Framework for Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Comprehensive Land Use Planning

The paper introduced a tool for mainstreaming climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in land use planning, a valuable tool for local government units (LGUs) and sectoral planners. To build the context for the presentation, the significance of the natural environment was discussed, emphasizing its contribution to the resilience of urban areas to climate change and disaster risks when natural environments are still intact. The contextual difference between climate change and disaster risks were also highlighted, particularly its impact on people and implications on policy focus.
