The purpose of this review is a broad-stroke scan of the accepted canons of competition policy and the benefits of their proper application to Philippine conditions. In-depth analyses of industry and sectoral competition issues required for deciding over industry-specific issues are not our goal here. Rather, the goal is to put both the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) and broad Philippine stakeholders on the convergent footing towards what is in the best interest of the whole economy.
