Developments in science and technology have shrunk the globe and the Philippines is fast joining the global village. This essay describes how this happened, what its effects are, and how it impacts on the future of Filipinos. The current economic scenario indicates a need for intelligent, committed, and dedicated individuals with certain expertise- in government, in enterprise, in the international community, in almost every field. Young people, however, are cautioned about the dangers ahead. It is suggested that the best way to succeed is to meet the competition head-on, using a good education to the fullest advantage.
