Talk Points Webinar - Safe Spaces: Building Gender-Sensitive Communities

TRIGGER WARNING: The following video contains content that may be harmful or traumatizing to some audiences. This includes topics of sexual harassment, sexual assault, child abuse, rape, sexism, misogyny and familial violence.

This webinar on Safe Spaces: Building Gender-Sensitive Communities, explores strategies for promoting gender sensitivity within communities, including the role of LGUs in fostering a culture of respect, equality, and non-violence. Our resource speakers and LGU sharers will look at effective response and support services, and dive into the best practices for responding to VAWC cases, including coordinating support services, trauma-informed approaches, and empowering survivors through counseling and legal assistance.

The Development Academy of the Philippines invited two resource speakers and two LGU sharers to elaborate further on this topic, Ms. Flora A. Villa-Atamosa, Ms. Dorothea C. Boy-Navarro, Engineer Lorna T. Cawaling, and Jay Gee B. Villaruz– who will all be convened for an open forum with our webinar host, Mr. JK Asturias, as moderator.

This is the fourth and final installment in our Ending VAWC series, made possible through the support of the Honorable Sen. Loren Legarda.
