Multiple Intelligence Among the PUPLHS Students: Bases for Developing K to 12 Subject Activities


This study delved into the multiple intelligences present among the freshman and sophomore students of the PUPLHS. It sought answers to the following problems: (1) find out the profile of the students in terms of age, gender, academic year level, and section; (2) identify the types of intelligences present among the students; (3) categorize the types of intelligences present among the student in terms of age, gender, academic year level, and section; and, (4) ascertain the significant difference between the students’ profile and their intelligences. The quantitative method particularly the descriptive research was used in procuring the necessary information for the research. Questionnaires were administered to the respondents who were determined through convenience sampling. The instrument used for the study was obtained from the ready-made test materials online. The results revealed that (1) majority of the respondents aged 12 and 13; that most of them are female; and that the majority of the respondents are freshmen. (2) It is also found that most of them possess Musical, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal Intelligences. (3) The primary types of intelligences present among the students in terms of age are Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, and Logical-Mathematical. On the other hand, Musical, Interpersonal, and Interpersonal is found in the majority of female respondents while majority of the male possess Musical, Interpersonal, and Logical-Mathematical intelligences. Based on the academic year and section the results showed that the majority of the respondents possess Musical, Interpersonal, and Logical-Mathematical intelligences. (4) It was also found that there is no significant difference when it comes to the students’ intelligences and their age, gender, academic year level, and section.
