SEARCA ASRF 2017 12: Development of a National Roadmap on Social Forestry in Malaysia

The development of social forestry in Malaysia is a result of the recognition that marginalized rural communities depend on forest resources for their subsistence. It is estimated that 12 percent of Malaysia’s 31 million population are natives and aborigines who, at varying degree, forest resourcesdependent for their livelihood.
