Factors Affecting the Choice of Location: A Survey of Foreign and Local Firms in the Philippines

This article explores the extent of the cross-national result on the Philippine firm level through a sample survey of 100 local and foreign firms. Findings show that out of the 34 factors considered as influencing location decision, only seven have been considered as decisive by majority of firms. In particular, direct government intervention is not generally considered as either decisive or of major importance in location choice.
