The article is a report on the progress and achievements of the earliest planning-related project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Philippines. The assignment of two planning UN experts to the Philippines to survey the country’s housing conditions resulted to a report recommending regional planning and development laws. Subsequently, UN got further involved as it helped put up the Institute of Planning in the University of the Philippines, providing consulting and advisory services, applied research, graduate education and in-service training.
