The six papers in this volume (the second in the series) represent the continuing efforts of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies to highlight and integrate the findings and recommendations of development research in the country and to assist in identifying future directions for policy-research. These deal with the following topics: forest and mineral policies, foreign investments, public finance and population and development. As in the previous volume, the view expressed by the researchers are solely their own.
In publishing these surveys, PIDS hope to be of service not only to policy makers, planners and researchers but also to the growing population interested in Philippine socioeconomic development.
