Some Views and Findings on the Current Financial Crisis

This paper provides a brief analysis of monetary policies undertaken in the wake of the 1997 financial crisis. Proposals from various institutions in connection with the crisis are likewise enumerated. Recommendations focus on reducing bank intermediation costs e.g. by cutting banks' reserve requirement.
