Social Adequacy and Economic Effects of Social Security: The Philippine Case

Regardless of whether one is dealing with the social security system of the government or the private sector, this paper examines the social adequacy and economic effects of the Philippine social security system. It gives substantial discussion on the merits and demerits of a social security program as it is applied in the Philippine setting. Social adequacy is analyzed through an incisive examination of the coverage, benefits and financing schemes provided by the security programs.
