This paper seeks to estimate the fund requirements of migrating overseas workers and analyze the variations according to occupation, skill level and destination of overseas workers. It also determines the manner in which migrating workers raise the funds to cover recruitment costs such as the use of savings, sale of properties and borrowings and analyzes the importance and contribution of different types of lenders and the terms and conditions of borrowing for each.
