The first paper deals with the research and development (R&D) investment on the postharvest management for development of Southeast Asia. It presents the various clients of postharvest R&D and the holistic approach to addressing postharvest problems. The second paper features an overview on the postharvest requirements of the food processing sector and draws on the case studies of Lao PDR, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
