PIDS 2019 Annual Report: Navigating the New Globalization: Local actions for global challenges

The year 2019 marks a significant milestone for PIDS as it embarks on aligning its systems and processes with international standards and obtaining ISO certification. Another key accomplishment is the finalization of the Institute’s latest five-year Research Agenda (2020-2025) that highlights the importance of conducting studies on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, climate change, trade, and inequality, among others. Furthermore, the Institute has completed 41 studies on relevant topics, including the Rice Tariffication Law, Free Irrigation Service Act, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, senior high school program, cash-based budgeting, universal health care, performance-based bonus scheme, and many more. This year-end report also features the Institute’s effort to bring its knowledge products and services closer to stakeholders by increasing its online presence and using digital technology.
