Permaculture: Reimagining Agriculture in the Philippines

Permaculture came from the words “permanent” and “agriculture,” with the former referring to what we call today as “sustainable.” Over the years, the scope of permaculture has encompassed projects beyond farms, so the word eventually evolved to mean “permanent” and “culture.”

Permaculture is an action-oriented, nature-based solution to address the multiple threats of environmental degradation due to conventional agriculture, food insecurity, and climate change. It is about time to reimagine agriculture before it is too late.
