The information and communication technology (ICT) sector continues to show signs of steady, robust growth. ICT companies located in export processing zones also continue to attract foreign investments for the country while providing a stable flow of foreign exchange earnings. Not to forget, these ICT companies continue to provide employment to many Filipinos. In this paper, the author notes, however, that the benefits from this sunrise industry could be even more. He states that the still-large digital divide hampers the sector’s growth.
