Labour Market, Structural Adjustments in the Philippines

This paper examines the transformation of the Philippine labor market as the country attempted to recover from the Second World War devastation. It reviews the development strategies adopted by the government to achieve growth and its effect on factor use and output. It then looks at the performance of the labor market by investigating the labor supply and demand and the employment and earnings income. Government interventions in the labor market and its effects on the market outcomes are also discussed.
