This publication, a joint effort of ADB and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, brings together the current knowledge about land and forest fires, examines their causes and impacts with particular reference to Southeast Asia, and suggests what could happen in the future.
This volume is organized into two main parts:
the Premise presents background information relating to forest fires and associated haze, comparing global responses and initiatives to address the situation
the Program discusses the programs being implemented in the ASEAN region to enhance regional preparedness to meet future occurrences of forest fires and haze.
