4th quarter of 2020 – Worse than Q4 2019, but shows green shoots of economic growth amidst pandemic
Based on select indicators, the region’s economic picture for this quarter is generally unfavorable compared to 2019.
Eastern Visayas, like the rest of the country and the world, continues to experience economic setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The vaccination program roll-out will lead to further reopening of more businesses and the relaxation of age group restrictions. This will redound to more economic activities, thus increase the consumer and business confidence in the region.
