The report presents data on significant natural catastrophes and their impact on MSMEs in the last 25 years, documents the formal and informal coping mechanisms among MSMEs in response to damages from the catastrophes. It also documents all existing formal financial instruments, government programmes, and subsidies, and describes international assistance in the last five years and their effect on the financial status of MSMEs in three temporal events: right after Nat Cats, six months after, and one year after the event. Lastly, it presents recommended insurance products for MSMEs and the corresponding adoptive strategies through DRM.
